February 1, 2010
Dear Valued Customer:
As a valued past customer of Three Trees Ranch, I would like to take this opportunity to bring you up to date on our marketing plans for the coming year. Like it did for many of our customers, the economy of 2009 presented a host of challenges to our parent company Thomas Enterprises and those economic issues in combination with the genetic mutations identified in the Angus breed over the past two years have made for interesting times for many of us in the seedstock industry. Contrary to rumors that you may have heard, neither Three Trees Ranch nor our parent company is in bankruptcy although several development projects are in the process of reorganization. Likewise, we have reorganized the daily operations of the ranch and streamlined many of the things that we do at the ranch to make better use of the resources available to us.
With our reduced ranch staff and our adjustment to changes in the way we do things still underway, we have made the decision to cancel our annual February bull sale at Three Trees Bluegrass and our annual April production sale at the headquarters here in Sharpsburg. We are preparing for the seventh annual Three Trees Millarden sale on Monday, November 1, 2010 at Woodbury, Georgia. We will offer Angus, Brangus, Charolais, Black Charolais, AnChar and Black AnChar bulls along with several hundred purebred and commercial females. We will continue with the February sale in Kentucky and our annual April production sale in 2011.
For our customers in need of bulls for spring 2010 service, we are preparing a private treaty offering of bulls to be available for delivery in April and May. If you would like a copy of that sale listing, please write, call or email the office and we will pleased to send one to you. As always, we will offer our sight unseen satisfaction guarantee and free delivery on all bulls in this private treaty offering.
We are very excited by the acceptance that the progeny of our young herd sires Connealy Forward and Rito 6EM3 enjoyed in the recent production sales of our partners Sydenstricker Genetics and Express Ranches. The sons and daughters of these bulls are the foundation of our future. Our first Brangus calf crop this fall by our super marbling sire Lambert of Brinks is everything we hoped they would be and we look forward to offering our first high marbling heat tolerant bulls as long yearlings in November.
There are positives in all situations and the big one for Three Trees Ranch for the past year will be the collection of individual feedlot and carcass data from more than 1,500 head of Angus and AnChar cattle over the course of the next six months. Our young sires will have more actual progeny harvest data than any others in the industry which should allow us to make even more advancements in keeping Three Trees genetics at the forefront of the real world of beef production. We take our responsibilities as a seedstock producer very seriously.
Thank you for the confidence that you have placed in Three Trees Ranch in the past. We hope that we can continue to earn and deserve your confidence in the future. We appreciate the prayers and well wishes of many as we have worked our way through adversity and we look forward to returning those kindnesses many times over.
Sincerely,
